Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Free Practice Session 2: Sainz and Hülkenberg Crashes, Leclerc Sets Best Time

2023-11-24 14:11:00

The second free practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the least hectic. After only thirteen minutes, Carlos Sainz crashed his Ferrari into the wall at turn 3. The SF-23 No. 55 was badly damaged, the red flag having logically been raised.

Around twenty minutes later, it was Nico Hülkenberg who lost control of his Haas at turn 1, destroying his rear wing. There too, the red flag was waved.

The session finally ended at 3:06 p.m. It was the other Ferrari driven by Charles Leclerc which set the best time in 1:24:809. The Monegasque beat Lando Norris’ McLaren by 43 thousandths of a second. The top three is completed by Max Verstappen at 173 thousandths.

Very nice fourth time from Valtteri Bottas for the last Alfa Romeo Grand Prix. The other Alfa driven by Guanyu Zhou is seventh behind the Red Bull of Sergio Perez and the Mercedes of George Russell. Followed by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren).
