Phil Spencer has already made it clear that Xbox will surprise us all with games in 2023 and beyond. Without a doubt, we’re all excited to learn more regarding the Xbox exclusives for 2023, which may be revealed very soon at one of the events. While it looked like Avowed might be one of next year’s top games, a new leak seems to have made it clear that Obsidian Entertainment’s new game isn’t coming anytime soon.

Insider Sn0w1n revealed via Twitter that Hellblade 2 will be released in late 2023, a decision he says has prevented Avowed from launching this year. Microsoft had serious discussions regarding whether to release these games at the same time, but Hellblade 2 was preferred, and the role-playing game will be released in early 2024.

Avowed looks like it will be a Skyrim-style game. In Avowed, players will be able to equip spells or weapons in specific hands, mixing and matching both playstyles.
