According to Jim Ryan, next-gen games will probably not start until 2022; Sony answer to Game Pass in preparation?

Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, sees the first real next-generation games, which will exploit the full potential of the PlayStation 5, only from 2022. He said in an interview with the Russian news agency TASS (via Games Radar). Until then, many cross-gen games will be published to provide the millions of PS4 players with software replenishment.

According to Ryan, the new generation of consoles will run similarly to the previous one, where, in his opinion, the games on the PS4 that first defined the generation did not appear on the PS4 until 2015/2016. It is normal that developers need a certain amount of time to get used to new hardware before they can unleash its full potential.

Interesting: When asked how Sony will react to the popular subscription service Game Pass, Ryan referred to the PlayStation Now counterpart as always, but there should be news about the subscription service in the near future.
