Vienna (OTS) – “The piecemeal uncovering of Russian networks in Austria – especially the FPÖ – paints a frightening picture. The findings of the red-blue abuse of office investigation committee also clearly show how political parties apparently work for Russia as an extension of the Kremlin. At the center of these machinations is not the long-resigned ex-Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache or the ex-Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who has now emigrated to Russia: No, it is Herbert Kickl, the current head of the Freedom Party of Austria himself,” says Sigi Maurer , David Stögmüller and Agnes Prammer following today’s National Security Council.

“It’s no longer regarding a cozy relationship between the FPÖ and Russia, it’s no longer regarding a friendly relationship: it’s regarding the fact that the FPÖ has been acting as Putin’s henchman in Austria for years. New insights are constantly emerging. A complete investigation of the FPÖ’s attempts to destabilize society is essential,” said Maurer, Stögmüller and Prammer.
