Thiruvananthapuram | CPM politburo member MA Baby strongly reacted to Governor Arif Muhammad Khan’s threat to sack ministers who criticize him. Baby said the governor’s action was totally unusual. The Governor should act on the advice of the Cabinet. Baby said that it was the governor who said without saying that the RSS chief was above him.
The governor had tweeted that if the ministers insulted the governor, strict action would be taken and he would be removed from the post of minister. He had said that advice can be given but not to detract from the dignity of the governorship.
Governor has no power to sack ministers: PDT Achari
Former Lok Sabha Secretary General PDT Achari clarified that the Governor does not have the power to sack ministers. The chief minister has full power of the state. Achari said that the Governor is only the constitutional head.
