Emma Stone was the most prominent absentee from the Venice Film Festival awards ceremony over the weekend. Due to the labor dispute in the USA, there were no photos of the leading actress and producer of the winning film Poor Things with the Golden Lion. Her director Yorgos Lanthimos also missed her in his acceptance speech: “This film is, above all, the main character Bella Baxter, this incredible being who would not exist without Emma Stone, another incredible being.”
