Adrián Ramos said goodbye to the club and the journalist sent a message: ‘You don’t play with idols.’

América de Cali was left without its idol this Friday: Adrián Ramos said goodbye to the club and its fans, in an emotional video that was published on the team’s official accounts.

Ramos returned to the club in 2020, following spending time in Europe, at Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and Granada. In his three stages with América (2004-2006, 2007-2009 and 2020-2023), he played 240 games and scored 85 goals.

The blow was very hard for all the scarlet fans, including the journalist Iván Mejía Álvarez, who is a follower of the ‘mecha’. Thus, Mejía exploded once morest Tulio Gómez, América’s largest shareholder, pointing out the leader for the departure of ‘Adriancho’.

With the acidity that characterizes his comments, Mejía Álvarez attacked Tulio, charging him for the departure of Adrián Ramos from the Valle del Cauca club.

“Tulio, the last one to close the door. You don’t play with idols. “Tulio, you may be a billionaire but you are not American, you are a football merchant,” Mejía wrote.
