The Minister of Supply, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, said that the wheat market is a free market, and major traders in Egypt decided to raise prices above international prices.
The minister added, in statements to the media, Amr Adib, through the Al-Hekaya program, that the price of a ton of flour was 8,600 pounds, but it rose to 12,000 pounds.
The minister explained that the price of the tourist loaf will return to what it was before the Russian-Ukrainian war following 48 hours, explaining that the state will enter to sell flour to tourist bakeries.
