After running out of fuel, Indian space station loses contact with one of its Mars rover

One of India’s spacecraft ran out of fuel, causing it to lose communication with the ground station, the launch and control centre.

Indian media said that the Indian Mars Orbiter has stopped broadcasting reports regarding its orbital mission around Mars following the spacecraft ran out of fuel.

Its battery has also depleted the safe limit, fueling speculation that the country’s first interplanetary mission ‘Mangalyaan’ may have finally completed its long roles.

Sources in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) told PTI: “At the moment, there is no fuel left, and the satellite’s battery has run out.”

“But recently, there have been back-to-back eclipses, including one that lasted seven and a half hours,” said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, noting that all the propellant on board the old satellite had been used up.
