It rained in different districts of Balochistan for the second day too, which created a flood situation, the rain in Chagai increased the flow of rivers and water entered the villages. Rain and urban flood emergency has been imposed in rain-affected areas. Quetta city was declared a disaster.
After the rains in the province, various areas are covered by flood channels, walls of houses collapsed in Chagai, while an area consisting of forty houses was washed away in flood channels.
Due to continuous heavy rain for ten hours in Quetta, water entered Qambarani Road, Ghousabad and other areas.
The PDMA has set up rescue camps in three areas including Sariab Kuchlak Hazara Town, and emergency work has been started on the dilapidated embankments of the dam.
According to the Balochistan government spokesperson, the holidays of officers and staff have been cancelled, public and private schools will remain closed today and tomorrow in the affected districts.
Quetta city declared disaster
According to the notification issued by PDMA Balochistan, urban flood emergency has been declared in Quetta following continuous heavy rains in Quetta.
An online meeting of the divisional commissioners and PDMA officials of the province was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
