Ottawa – A week and a half following the scandal surrounding the honoring of a former SS member during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Canadian Parliament has elected a new president. Liberal Greg Fergus became the first black person elected to office on Tuesday. In his inaugural speech, Fergus spoke of a “great honor” and called for a respectful culture of debate in the parliament.
