AI for SMBs: Huawei’s New Solutions to Bridge the Adoption Gap

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming essential for business success, yet many small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are struggling to implement the technology across their organizations. A recent study by Foundry’s AI Priorities Survey 2025 revealed that 68% of SMBs are still in the research or pilot phase of AI adoption, compared to just 28% of larger enterprises who are further along in the implementation process. This disparity highlights a significant gap in AI readiness, despite the potential for AI to level the playing field for smaller businesses.

AI offers SMBs the opportunity to reduce costs associated with complex IT infrastructures and empower employees to focus on more strategic initiatives. Recognizing this need, Huawei has launched the HUAWEI eKit 4+10+N SME Intelligence Solutions (HUAWEI eKit), a suite of tools designed to address the challenges SMBs face when adopting AI. The company will showcase the HUAWEI eKit for the first time outside of China at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, March 2-5.

Addressing the Barriers to AI Implementation

Huawei’s new offering aims to lower the barriers to AI adoption for SMEs, specifically addressing concerns around awareness, technical capabilities, and practical application. The HUAWEI eKit provides a one-stop shop for products and scenario-specific solutions, working with distribution partners to simplify the process for customers. Huawei is taking on the internal complexity of AI integration, delivering a streamlined experience to both customers and partners, and providing the necessary “last-mile” services for businesses undergoing digital transformation.

To effectively address the pain points SMBs experience with AI deployment, Huawei has overhauled its distribution model. The company is shifting away from selling individual products and towards offering integrated, scenario-based solutions that are easier for installers to deliver. This approach centers around designing solutions tailored to real-world business use cases, as exemplified by the HUAWEI eKit 4+10+N SME Intelligence Solutions.

The 4+10+N Framework

The HUAWEI eKit framework is structured around three key components:

  • 4 Scenarios: Focusing on core business operations – intelligent office, intelligent business, intelligent education, and intelligent healthcare.
  • 10 One-Stop Solutions: Derived from the four scenarios, these include solutions like SME office, intelligent hotel, digital diagnosis platforms, and intelligent interactive classrooms.
  • N Star Products: A range of products tailored to these scenarios, including the HUAWEI eKit Engine AR180 series enterprise-grade routers and AI-powered IdeaHub products.

These technologies are pre-integrated and validated, offering greater flexibility in deployment and allowing installers to easily customize solutions to meet specific client needs. For example, the Intelligent Office scenario includes the Startup Space Office Solution and the SMB Office Solution, designed to enhance AI capabilities in a practical, scenario-based manner.

For startups, the Startup Space Office Solution simplifies network setup with a single AR180 device capable of integrating eight functions: routing, switching, Wi-Fi 7, VPN, MESH, WAC, internet access control, and Turbo. This aligns with Huawei’s stated goal of ensuring “no SME is left behind in the intelligent world.” The SMB Office Solution has been upgraded to a 2.5GE + Wi-Fi 7 high-performance network, designed to meet the bandwidth demands of AI-driven tasks like design, video production, and 4K video conferencing over the next 3 to 5 years.

Huawei is also bolstering support for its distribution partners, providing quicker access to resources, solution demonstrations, and simplified configuration plans. Delivery services include unified installation, centralized network management, and consolidated customer support, aiming to accelerate AI adoption and ensure a smooth experience for installers.

Launched globally in 2023, HUAWEI eKit builds on Huawei’s 30+ years of experience in the ICT sector. The company has fostered a collaborative model with channel partners, offering specialized training, technical support, and streamlined sales tools to promote the adoption of its solutions. Huawei continues to provide global SMBs with user-friendly and maintainable intelligent solutions.

As AI technology matures, successful adoption will no longer be a distant goal for SMBs, but a crucial step towards future growth. Having the right infrastructure and expertise will be key to unlocking this potential. With complete-to-end intelligent products delivered through solutions like the HUAWEI eKit, SMBs can position themselves for transformative change, mirroring the advancements seen in larger enterprises.
