Air Jordan 1 High “Shattered Backboard” auctioned; A new record in sight?

In the summer of 1985 during an exhibition match in Trieste, Italy, Michael Jordan, wearing his Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago”, planted a dunk exploding the panel of the room. 35 later the shoes he wore that day are up for auction at Christie’s.

They are estimated at between 650,000 and 850,000 $ and if they reach that price, they will become the most expensive sneakers in history.

Note that the pair is signed by Michael Jordan and it is quite damaged.
