Wellington – Air New Zealand wants to be the first airline to add a battery-electric aircraft to its regular fleet. The New Zealand airline wants to use an Alia machine ordered from US manufacturer Beta Technologies for commercial flights from 2026, as Kiri Hannifin, who is responsible for sustainable development at New Zealand Air, told the AFP news agency on Wednesday.
