Al-Ahly’s first comment on Akram Tawfiq’s injury to the cruciate ligament and the date of his return to Cairo

Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly’s director of football, confirmed that he contacted Akram Tawfiq, the first football team player, following the injury he sustained during his participation with the national team in the Nigeria match, which was held yesterday, Tuesday, in the African Nations Cup.

Abdel Hafeez explained that the player will return to Cairo next Saturday, and that there is continuous communication with him and a careful follow-up of his condition, and arrangements are currently underway for his travel outside Egypt to undergo surgery and receive the necessary treatment.

It is noteworthy that the club’s first football team resumed its training this followingnoon, Wednesday, at Al-Teach Stadium on the island, in preparation for the Egyptian Football Association Cup.

Al-Ahly will face El-Gouna at 2:30 pm tomorrow, Thursday, at Al-Ahly We Al-Salam Stadium, in the first round of the tournament.
