Al-Manar Sports website » Roy Vitoria has been coach of the Egyptian national team for 4 years

The Egyptian Football Association announced via Facebook on Tuesday the appointment of Portuguese Rui Vitoria as coach of the national team for a period of four years.

The Benfica coach and former Saudi victory, 52, will succeed Ihab Galal, who was sacked last month following only three matches, in the post.

After weeks of speculation and controversy regarding the identity of the new coach, the Egyptian Federation published on its page early Tuesday morning a video of Vitoria saying, “Hello, I am Roy Vitoria, coach of the Egyptian national team for the next four years.”

Vitoria won the Portuguese League twice in a row with Benfica, along with the Portuguese Cup from 2015 to 2019.

Then he moved to Al-Nasr and won the Saudi Professional League title in the 2018-2019 season and the Saudi Super Cup. His last stop was a short one last year with Russia’s Spartak Moscow.
