Six Arab runners on Wednesday qualified for the semi-finals of the 800m at the 2022 World Championships in Athletics – Oregon.

The runners are the Moroccans Moaz Zahafi, Al-Hassan Mujahid and Abdel-Ati Al-Kass, the Algerians Jamal Sajati and Suleiman Moulay and the Tunisian Abdel Salam Oyouni, while the other Algerian Yassin Hathat failed to catch up with them.

The top three in the six groups of qualifiers qualified directly for the semi-finals, along with the six fastest times behind them.

The semi-finals will be held on Thursday evening, with the finals taking place next Saturday.
