Al Markaziya – She bought her daughter a laptop… so the shock was inside the box

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

A shocking surprise was waiting for a British woman who wanted to make her daughter happy on the occasion of Christmas, by giving her a laptop computer that she had bought from Amazon, when she opened the box to find corn flakes inside instead of the electronic device.

Lizzie Pattison ordered the computer from e-commerce company Amazon in October to gift it to her 10-year-old daughter for Christmas.

The woman kept the box hidden for regarding two months, until Wednesday, when she discovered that the package contained the “famous breakfast.” When she contacted Amazon, the company told her that the 30-day return period had passed.
After several attempts, Amazon accepted the refund request and returned the money to Pattison, along with £40 gift vouchers.

The woman told the BBC: “My main concern is that there will be a number of children on Christmas morning who will open what their parents think is a tablet or laptop, only to find out otherwise, because the parents did not open the box.”
