Salzburg – ÖFB team captain David Alaba was operated on by renowned knee surgeon Christian Fink in Tyrol on Tuesday following he tore his cruciate ligament. The operation was “successful”, Real Madrid announced in the evening, without confirming the location of the operation. The club statement simply said that the procedure was carried out “under the supervision of the Real Madrid medical department”. Real also said: “Alaba will begin his recovery process in the next few days.”
