MEXICO CITY.- During his participation in the Ibero-American Congress of Constitutional Law at UNAM, the minister Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá shared his position in the current context.

What did Alcántara Carrancá say?
In his speech, he emphasized that neither one person, nor 100, nor 500, no matter how much they represent the people, can embody their will absolutely. “The people do not have a single voice,” he said.
“The people are each person with their own projects, interests and desires.” González Alcántara highlighted judicial independence as an essential guarantee in democracy.
He explained that judges are there to listen to those who, in the midst of public opinion and its changes, run the risk of being ignored or silenced by the decisions of power.
