Aldi’s Private Labels Shake-Up: Pirato Brand of Crisps among the Many to Go

2023-09-25 15:11:33

Aldi to remove Pirato brand of crisps. But the supermarket chain is not just eliminating the famous brand of chips. The long-term goal is to reduce the number of private labels from 160 to 55, the company said.

The supermarket chain is scrutinizing the number of private labels. Aldi wants to be more profitable by having less different packaging. At the same time, by working with fewer private label brands, it also wants to rationalize its offering.

The most famous victim of this exercise is the brand of chips that we know, Pirato. It will become Sun Snacks from next year.

But other brands are also disappearing. This is an exercise that will last for some time. What is already certain is that the coffee brands Markus and Moreno will disappear and merge into the coffee brand Barissimo. The end-of-year Excellence brand will become Gourmet Finest Cuisine and the veggie brand My Veggie Day will become MyVay.
