Palestinian, aged 23, allegedly told Fedasil he intended to “die a martyr by blowing himself up”, writes The last news this Wednesday.

The man submitted an asylum application in Belgium on September 26. He was scheduled to appear once more the next day, but this was not the case. He ultimately did not go to Fedasil’s offices on Tuesday and reportedly expressed his desire to die as a martyr, mentioning that he had learned that his entire family had died in Gaza.

Following this statement, the young Palestinian was immediately reported nationally, triggering a manhunt by all police units in the country. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office confirms having been informed of the facts, but nevertheless specifies that “no comments will be made. »

The police do not give any indication of the level of dangerousness of the man and how serious these threats are. However, in view of the current context and the attack that occurred last Monday during which two Swedes lost their lives, the police forces are not taking any risks. Threat Level 3, indicating a serious threat, is currently in effect.
