Alliance “Living without violence” calls for better protection against violence in Austria – Against violence against women

Vienna – The Council of Europe’s expert panel on violence against women and domestic violence (Grevio) recently praised the domestic authorities for measures to protect against violence, but also identified gaps. The “Living without violence” alliance presented demands on Monday. One point of criticism concerned criminal prosecution, the effectiveness of which “leaves much to be desired” in this area, said Katharina Beclin from the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Vienna.
