Alphonse was born in Flénu on January 4, 1951 into a family of six children. After primary studies at the Frères school in Flénu and secondary studies at the Institut Saint-Luc in Mons, he began to work as an apprentice in a garage on the Place de Cuesmes and then as a window washer at SHAPE in Casteau. For a quarter of a century, he led a team at Philip Morris in Brussels. Alphonse has been retired since 2016 but he still remains active in gardening and painting. He is also a collector of Ferrari scale models as well as 2 euro coins.

Assunta was born in Boussu on May 29, 1953 into a family of two children. She has her diploma as a seamstress. A profession that she will exercise following her marriage while taking care of her family. She has been retired since 2018.

The encounter

It was at the dance hall “Le Chanteclerc”, in Jemappes, at the ball for young people, that our two jubilarians met in 1969. Their love gave birth to their two daughters, Stéphanie and Mélanie. They then became the grandparents of Livio and Milo.

Assunta is always ready to do sewing work on demand and prepare excellent meals. She also enjoys RAI UNO television programs. Auguri, congratulations.
