Alvin Kamara faces a severe penalty.
The New Orleans Saints running back was indicted by a Las Vegas jury over an incident during last year’s Pro Bowl weekend.
Kamara and three other men, including Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons, are now facing a lawsuit alleging conspiracy to cause physical harm and physical harm to significant property damage.
The accused are accused of hitting, kicking and injuring another man following he and Kamara got into an argument in front of a hotel elevator.
Kamara has to answer in court
“The state avoided a controversial preliminary hearing in which Mr. Kamara was charged,” his legal team responded in a statement.
“He intends to vigorously fight the allegations in court as he was defending himself and others at the time of the incident.”
Necessary hearings have been repeatedly postponed over the past twelve months, and a court date in Las Vegas District Court is now scheduled for early March.
