An American, originally from Georgia, was stunned while picking up his mail. And for good reason, Connor Cato finds a fine for speeding amounting to 1.33 million euros, report our colleagues from Nieuwsblad.

The driver was arrested by a police patrol last September following being spotted driving at 145 km/h instead of 90. It was therefore a few weeks later that he received his fine.

According to local authorities, anyone speeding more than 50 kilometers per hour must appear in court. The amount quoted was in fact just an amount generated by the internal software. Connor Cato would actually have to pay a fine of up to $1,000, or around 950 euros.
