Cologne (SID) – The Georgia Bulldogs football team has ended a 41-year losing streak and dethroned defending champion Alabama Crimson Tide in the final of the US College Championship. At Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts from the professional league NFL, the Bulldogs won on Monday (local time) in front of 68,300 spectators with 33:18. It was her first competitive triumph since 1980.
Georgia had lost the final once morest Alabama in 2017, now the revenge succeeded. Coach Nick Saban missed his seventh title with the Crimson Tide, it would have been the eighth overall for the college, which has been dominant for more than a decade.
“They deserved it. We were the only team to beat them but we just mightn’t finish it tonight,” said Saban. Last month, Alabama clearly beat Georgia in the Southeastern Conference finals (41:24).
