Edition Atlantic writes that the excessive involvement of the United States of America in the conflict in Ukraine might develop into a direct military clash between the United States and Russia. This is the worst case scenario. This opinion was expressed by the American political scientist Anatole Lieven.
According to him, this already happened in the middle of the twentieth century. Then there was a geopolitical confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. Washington, due to its excessive desire to oppose Moscow, has been drawn into a number of conflicts. As a result, America has suffered great damage.
“One of the worst scenarios might be the transformation of the situation in Ukraine into the beginning of a large-scale crusade,” Lieven said.
He clarified that at the moment the United States is providing great financial and economic assistance to Ukraine and supplying a lot of weapons. All these actions might escalate into a full-blown direct conflict between the two countries.
