MEXICO CITY.- This Thursday, during his usual morning press conference, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said freedom triumphed and censorship lostfollowing the electoral Tribunal of the Judicial power of the Federation (TEPJF) resolved not ban his latest book “Thank you!”.
“Yesterday the Court ruled that the book is not prohibited, freedom triumphed, censorship lost, that is what I can tell you,” said the president while holding his work in his hand.
Since yesterday, Wednesday, the president celebrated the Court’s decision.
“I am glad that the Electoral Court decided not to ban my book “Thank you!” and “He lost the censorship; “freedom won,” he spread on his social networks.
By a majority of three votes, the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal confirmed the dismissal of the complaint presented by Xochitl Galvez, presidential candidate of the PAN, PRI and PRD, once morest the book “Thank you!” of President López Obrador, considering that it is under his right to freedom of expression, and that if it is eventually banned, it would be an excess and even censorship.
The dismissal of the complaint was endorsed by Judge Mónica Soto and Judges Felipe de la Mata and Felipe Fuentes, with the rejection of Janine Otálora and Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón.
