Rudolf Grüner returned despite everything. To Ampflwang, where the National Socialists took away everything he had built for himself: his store, his friends and his family. He continued to run his business on what is now Vöcklabrucker Straße until 1957, and spent his twilight years in Linz. Together with his second wife and his brother-in-law’s daughter, whom he adopted following the war.
