(CNN) — A new audio recording of Princess Diana has been released as she talks regarding the disappointment of Britain’s Prince Charles – now King Charles III – that they had a boy, not a girl, when Prince Harry was born.
The late princess recorded a series of audio tapes in the 1990s and secretly handed them over to author Andrew Morton (her biographer) before her death in a car accident in 1997.
And the American ABC channel was able to listen exclusively to the recordings in which Diana says that her husband will not even talk to her stepmother, Rain Spencer, and she said: “Because at Harry’s baptism, Charles went to his mother and said: ‘You know we were very disappointed, and we thought it would be A girl.. And my mother replied strongly: “You have to realize how lucky you are to have a normal child.”
Morton told ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday that it was “real moving” to hear her voice and her first-hand views on the monarchy.
