Political thinker Dr. Hossam Badrawi, advisor to the National Dialogue, said that there are those who cut off his statements to “distort the truth,” stressing that his political beliefs have not changed, and what he said yesterday he says today, and his statements contain nothing but what is in the constitution, so why is that considered criticism?
Badrawi added, in statements to “The Seventh Day”: “My words regarding the military institution are always preceded and followed by respect, and my saying that it (in front of the people’s eyes should not be responsible for economic development or political practice) is a protection for it, because it is the people’s refuge for their protection and the protection of the constitution, and this Its constitutional role.
He continued, “It is not right for anyone to use my words and twist and color them for destructive purposes once morest a respectable institution that knows its role well.”
Badrawi continued: “My call for the transfer of power is not a criticism of the president, but rather the philosophy and content of the constitution, otherwise it would mean that the president is once morest (the transfer of power), and this is what he did not say and will not do, so we do not say what he did not say because he is basically the protector of the constitution.” Badrawi emphasized that “the regime’s acceptance of its political difference is credited to it and not once morest it.”
And he stressed that what is being circulated from time to time regarding his intention to run for the presidency is something that does not exist, as he said: “I do not think and it will not happen.. I say my free opinion without hidden goals and I only want the interest of my country.”
