Andrew Cuomo Files Lawsuit to Obtain Unpublished Interviews from Sexual Harassment Investigation

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has filed a lawsuit to force State Attorney Letitia James to hand over unpublished interviews from the sexual harassment investigation that led to his resignation, it was reported Saturday.

Cuomo filed the lawsuit in New York state court on Thursday. His argument is that he needs witness statements to defend himself in two sexual harassment cases linked to the investigation.

A federal judge refused to turn over similar records in another lawsuit brought by Cuomo last year.

The former governor, who was once billed as a rising star in the Democratic Party, resigned in 2021 following a prosecutor’s office report that said he sexually harassed at least 11 women.

Cuomo has rejected the allegations. He and his supporters have called James and the investigation unfair. According to him, Cuomo is studying his return to the political scene.

A spokesman for James did not respond to requests for comment Friday.
