Angolan ambassador named winner of the Kalahari Conference at BAL – Jornal OPaís

Petro de Luanda’s senior men’s basketball team is considered a candidate for first place in the Kalahari Conference of the African Basketball League (BAL), which will be played from the 9th to the 17th of this month in Pretoria, South Africa.

According to the press, on the competition stage, the Angolan ambassador leaves as favorite, in fact, it is the team with the most history and African achievements.

The aspects that make the oil companies main candidates include their regular participation in the competition, where they have already been on the podium twice, in addition to having a significant number of players from the National Team.

Because of this, the three opponents, with no history in the competition, are considered accessible for the six games to be played over the next eight days.

Petro is a totalist in the competition, followed only by Monastir from Tunisia, who will play in the Sahara Conference, in Senegal, from the 4th to the 12th of May.

In its debut year, in 2021, the Angolan representation came in third place, in 2022 it rose to second, and in the last edition it dropped to fourth place, won by Al-Ahly from Egypt.

For the opening round, tomorrow, the Angolan ambassador will face the debutant Fus de Rabat team from Morocco, at 4 pm local time (minus one in Angola).
