During the followingnoon of this Thursday, and for reasons that are still being thoroughly investigated, a captain and a police officer were injured by a group of subjects in the Santiago Centro commune.
According to police information, the incident occurred while a demonstration was taking place with regarding 80 people in the Plaza de Armas.
Captain Leonardo Aguilar, officer of the Central Round, pointed out that “from this group Approximately 15 subjects break off, which attack police officers with blunt objects (sticks, stones, etc.), two officials of the institution were injured. Subsequently, these subjects continued their march towards the Alameda causing damage to existing public property in the place”.
Also, it was reported that individuals using the method of “turbazo” robbed a store in La Polar and a pharmacy belonging to Dr. Simi.
It was reported that the uniformed men were transferred to the institutional hospital and that his injuries would not be serious.
