The Antwerp police intervention team came across a seriously injured hostage on Tuesday during the arrest of a criminal wanted for an unserved prison sentence. The information was confirmed Thursday by the prosecution.
Police located a 39-year-old man on Tuesday evening who had been sentenced to four years in prison for the attempted murder of a bus driver. He was staying with a friend, also wanted by the prosecution, in an apartment located in Antwerp. During the search, the intervention team came across a seriously injured hostage, aged 52. The victim apparently owed money to the wanted individuals.
