Aoun asks the Lebanese government to conduct business

Today, Saturday, Lebanese President Michel Aoun asked Najib Mikati’s caretaker government, pending the formation of a new government.

Aoun “expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister and the ministers, and asked the government to conduct business until a new government is formed,” according to a statement issued by the Lebanese presidency today.

Last Sunday, the Lebanese elected 128 new parliamentarians, and the new parliament’s mandate begins on May 22.
