MSFT.O argued that some of their services weren’t popular enough to be designated as “gatekeepers” under Europe’s new digital markets law, designed to limit the powers of big tech companies, the report reported. Financial Times Monday.

Apple is battling for its chat app iMessage, while Microsoft is battling for its search engine Bing, ahead of Wednesday’s release of the first list of services to be regulated under the law, according to the report.
