– A firearm has been shown, and when you have taken the proceeds, it is a serious robbery, says police task leader Arve Røtterud to NTB at the scene at 3.15pm.
It was around 2.30pm that the police received a report that the jeweler David-Andersen on Karl Johans gate in central Oslo had been robbed.
On Saturday followingnoon, the police are searching with large resources for what they assume is one perpetrator.
Has good video images
– We have not arrested anyone, but we have very good video images of the person running out, says Røtterud.
Operations manager Eirik Sannes tells NTB that they are taking into account that several people may have been involved.
No one was physically injured in the robbery.
On Saturday followingnoon, there are many people on Karl Johans gate and in the center of Oslo.
Shall question the employees
The crime watch in the Oslo police district will now work on the spot to search for fingerprints and carry out other investigations.
– We will question the employees who experienced the robbery, and we will also search for video cameras that may have caught the perpetrator. There are also many in the police who know the criminal environment, so perhaps we can make an arrest during the evening. We can hope for that, says Røtterud.
