According to the statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), General Fayaz Bin Hameed Al Waeli and his high-level military delegation met General Asim Munir.
Spokesman Pakistan Army said that during the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation including various areas of mutual interest, defense and security issues.
It is further stated in the ongoing statement that earlier today the delegation also met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
It should be noted that the visit of the Saudi delegation to Pakistan has been made at a time when earlier this month the Army Chief invited the business community to invest 25 in Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) on behalf of Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It had assured billions of dollars in investment aimed at attracting investment in the agricultural sector by ensuring land supply and exports.
Earlier this year, Army Chief General Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia where he met the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Muhammad bin Salman in Madinah, during which bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed. .
On the occasion of the visit, Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the Army Chief at the winter camp set up in Al-Ola area of Madinah.
During the meeting, various issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and ways to improve them were discussed.
On this occasion, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and National Security Adviser Dr. Masad bin Muhammad Al-Aybin, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Amir Khurram and other senior officials were also present.
