On September 9, 2023, a young man born in 2004 was arrested in possession of cocaine, heroin and a large sum of cash on him by the Haute-Meuse police. This Wednesday morning, 37 months in prison were requested by the Namur public prosecutor’s office once morest him, before the Dinant criminal court.
The defendant had tried to escape a police check. “The police caught up with him and carried out a check. A strong smell of narcotics emanated from the passenger compartment. Inside, they found 3x 5g of heroin and 20g of cocaine,” indicates the Namur public prosecutor’s office.
Telephone analysis of his mobile phone made it possible to discover exchanges via the Snapachat application with a structure active in the narcotics sector well known to the justice system in the Liège region. “All the dealers delivered the products with rental vehicles. In 10 days, the defendant delivered €23,235 worth of narcotics,” specifies the public prosecutor.
“Those who are above the pyramid attract weaker people via attractive income,” notes Me Agliata, for the defendant. Given the very short period of the offense and the role of “pawn” played by his client in this structure, the defense requested a work sentence or a probationary suspension in the alternative.
