On Wednesday evening, the western motorway near Thalgau is the scene of an outdoor operational exercise. The A1 is therefore closed in this area for several hours.
Around 200 people are taking part, including Asfinag, four volunteer fire departments in the region, the Red Cross, the motorway police and “extras”. Access, radio communication, firefighting, rescue and general operational communication are practiced. The training scenario is an accident involving a bus and a car.
The Vienna-bound lane will therefore be closed to all traffic on Wednesday (September 20th) between 8 p.m. and midnight. This will be redirected on a small scale via a local motorway parking lot. On the Salzburg-bound lane, only the fast lane will be closed during this period.
The actual practice starts at 9:30 p.m. In an emergency, the alarm and the coordination of emergency services must run optimally and without delay.
