The CID in its investigation revealed that the person killed in the encounter was not dacoit Kenaram Boro alias Kenaram Basumatary, but Dibeshwar Muchahari. The family claims that he was a small farmer. But the police claim that Dimbeshwar (40) also has several criminal records.

What did the police claim?

Regarding the encounter in Udalguri on February 24, the police claimed that two people fired at them. In retaliatory action, an alleged dacoit was killed while his accomplice escaped.

Police later claimed that Kenram was killed in the encounter and his body was handed over to the family following which he was cremated.

CM had given orders for CID inquiry
