Assembly urges Guillermo Lasso to come to speak about the Pandora Papers case

The motion presented by Assemblyman Alejandro Jaramillo, to urge President Guillermo Lasso to attend the Plenary of the National Assembly for the Pandora Papers case, was approved.

With 82 votes, the President is urged to “attend a session of the Plenary of the Assembly, to explain their possible relationship, on the ownership of goods and assets in tax havens,” said the Assembly.

The motion presented by the assemblyman and president of the Constitutional Guarantees Commission, Fernando Cabascango, to request the appearance of Guillermo Lasso for Pandora Papers, was not approved.

The National Assembly announced that there were a total of 61 affirmative votes, 47 negative and 27 abstentions, with which the requirement was not approved.

Also, tonight the request of Assemblywoman Paola Cabezas was rejected, regarding the same issue mentioned about the Pandora Papers case.
