According to Saudi Arabia’s state news agency SPA, a team of 159 craftsmen carried out the transformation of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Kiswah.

The team, dividing their work around the Kaaba’s sides and roof, removed the old Kiswah and installed the new Kaaba cover, then attached it to the corners and roof of the Kaaba.

The weight of the newly installed Kiswah is 1350 kg and its height is 14 meters. This cover consists of four separate sides and a door curtain.

Each side of the Holy Kaaba was individually lifted up to the roof of the Kaaba to reveal the old cover.
