With his physical appearance as a mover, Grant Holloway has just given statistics sites a big boost by erasing the Briton’s iconic 60m hurdles world record Colin Jackson Wednesday during the indoor meeting in Madrid.
At 23, the American, world champion in the 110m hurdles in 2019, ran in 7 sec 29, a hundredth of a second faster than Jackson in March 1994.
The time recorded by Holloway is anything but a surprise, the athlete from Chesapeake (Virginia) flew over the indoor season like no one before him. He had announced the color by winning in 7 sec 32 his series, then 2nd best world performance of all time (3rd now).
With his performances by Liévin on February 9 (7.32), Fayetteville (North Carolina) on January 24 (7.35) and Birmingham (Alabama) in March 2019 (7.35), he now holds five of the eight best performances of all time on the 60 m hurdles.
Better yet, Holloway is undefeated in 41 races over the distance since making his senior hurdles debut just over four years ago.
