The attacks on container ships in the Red Sea have caused waves. Four of the world’s five largest shipping companies are withdrawing – at least temporarily – from the strait between the southern tip of Yemen and the Suez Canal. And the billion-dollar oil company BP and several recruiters no longer want to send oil tankers and ship crews through the Red Sea. Memories of the Suez Canal in 2021, which was blocked by an injured Taiwanese ship, are awakened. But is there really a risk that shipping traffic will be paralyzed once more? In any case, experts are skeptical.
