Australia: pardoned the woman who had spent 20 years in prison for the death of her four children

Kathleen Folbigg, who was called “Australia’s worst serial killer” for the deaths of her four children in 2003, wasand pardoned and released this Monday following spending 20 years in jail. The woman had appealed several times the sentence, to 30 years.

The lawyers had asked for the following showing scientific evidence regarding natural and genetic causes. The four boys died between 1989 and 1999, with ages ranging from 19 days to 18 months.

New South Wales State Attorney General Michael Daley said Monday that an investigation launched in 2022 established a “reasonable doubt” and Folbigg was pardoned.
