In Australia from 2023, the face of King Charles III will be on the coins, according to Leigh Gordon, CEO of the Royal Australian Mint. The Australian decimal currency, adopted in 1966, has carried the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II for approximately 30 years. Coins featuring Queen Elizabeth II will remain legal tender and will not be withdrawn until they are sold out.
