Lake Placid – Madeleine Egle triumphed in the single-seater at the start of the World Cup luge in Lake Placid on Saturday. The Austrian won twice with the best running times, ahead of the German Julia Taubitz (+0.188 seconds) and the American Summer Britcher (+0.407). Lisa Schulte came fifth (+0.462), Hanna Prock came in 13th. In the sprint races, Austria gained three podium places, including a women’s doubles victory for Selina Egle/Lara Kipp.
